P&O takes adventure to the high seas

P&O takes adventure to the high seas

The new onboard adventure offering from P&O Cruises, P&OEdge, has been well received by guests on Pacific Jewel following its debut on the ship’s latest cruise, according to the cruise line.

The program, which launched aboard a 10-night Pacific Islands cruise which returned to Sydney yesterday, features 20 activities such as flying fox lines and laser tag. Many of them have been designed specifically to take advantage of the ship’s architecture, such as the funnel climb.

The new activities proved popular with both adults and children, according to P&O senior vice president Tammy Marshall.

“From climbing the ship’s funnel to swinging on high ropes in the atrium, wherever you turned on the ship there was a passenger getting a very different perspective on their cruise,” she said.

“All these activities are great fun on land, but when you do them at sea the motion of the ship adds an amazing fourth dimension which makes for a truly memorable experience.”

The new program represents part of an effort to broaden the range of experiences on board P&O’s vessels to grow their appeal to additional segments of the market, particularly “cruise rookies”.
