Internal shake-up for JTG as Helloworld moves forward

Internal shake-up for JTG as Helloworld moves forward
By admin

The latest announcement from the Jetset Travelworld Group has confirmed an extensive restructure of its executive team to support its new Helloworld model, with chief executive Rob Gurney warning more changes are on their way.

Under the rejig, Julie Primmer, JTG general manager since 2004, will take on the role of head of branded network with responsibility for all Helloworld franchisees.

General manager Travelscene American Express, David Padman, becomes head of associate networks with associate and corporate members of the Helloworld network under his charge.

Meanwhile, David Rivers, managing director of Harvey World Travel, becomes head of retail transition, taking responsibility for those franchisees who decide against moving to the new Helloworld concept.

The changes also see Travelscene chief executive, Mike Thompson, become head of strategic partnerships responsible for maintaining relationships with the company's “most significant” commercial partners.

“Now that the new executive team has been appointed, they are in the process of developing their departmental organisations.  In the interim, all existing structures and roles will remain unchanged,” Gurney said.

“We will make further announcements as the organisation develops to meet our future needs in the growing and dynamic travel industry.

“We have a very strong and committed executive team and I am delighted that we have been able to retain all of them in our new structure.”

All positions will “start to transition” immediately and will be fully effective from November 1, according to the firm.

Franchisees and members will have continued access to the same business development managers and business leaders as the switchovers are implemented.

Other changes unrelated to the Helloworld implementation and with immediate effect will see general manager commercial Peter Egglestone become head of wholesale with Helloworld holiday products and all existing wholesale brands  under his remit.

General counsel Stephanie Belton will expand her position to become group company secretary.
