Boeing world fleet to double by 2032
By admin

Asia Pacific will lead the way in terms of the number of aircraft deliveries over the next two decades, according to aircraft manufacturer Boeing.

Boeing's latest market outlook projected worldwide demand for more than 35,000 new aircraft worth US$4.8 trillion over the next 20 years with 12,820 of those destined for the Asia Pacific region – well ahead of Europe and North America which are expected to receive 7,460 and 7,250 respectively.

According to the forecasts, the world fleet will double over the same period with both passenger traffic and cargo traffic expected to grow 5% annually.

"This forecast gives us confidence as we increase our production rates and invest in new products like the 777X and 787-10X," vice president marketing Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Randy Tinseth, said.

Demand for single-aisle aircraft will be the main avenue of growth driven by the rise of low cost carriers and those from emerging markets. However, wide-bodied aircraft will also be in strong demand as airlines refresh their fleets with more fuel-efficient aircraft.

"Our customers are focused on growing their networks, managing their capacity and investing in new fleets," Tinseth said.

"These trends will shape market demand for aircraft that have high efficient, low operating costs, environmentally progressive technologies and a great passenger experience."
