ATE 2014 host city revealed

ATE 2014 host city revealed
By admin

Cairns will host Australian Tourism Exchange next year in what is expected to provide a major boost for tourism to the region.

Tourism Australia is set to formally announce the host city tonight at the close of this year’s Sydney event.

But Tourism Topical North Queensland is known to have secured ATE which will take place in May.

The location, the centre of one of Australia’s major tourism regions, will bring challenges for TA which traditionally takes the annual trade show to state capitals.

Cairns has a tighter convention venue than Adelaide which itself was regarded as tight.

Tourism Australia is likely to face similar challenges to those experienced by New Zealand’s Tourism Industry Association which took the country’s TRENZ trade show to Queenstown in 2011 and 2012.

Sellers complained of smaller stands, but on the positive side it created a unique and convivial close-knit atmosphere that was praised by buyers and sellers.
