Rail Plus begins quest for rail experts
By admin

Travel agents are being invited to apply for one of 40 places on Rail Plus's 2013 Global Rail Experts program as the wholesaler continues its quest to increase the trade's knowledge of international and domestic rail travel.

Successful consultants will complete 10 training modules over a 10-week period with this year's program being sponsored for the first time by Rocky Mountaineer, VIA Rail Canada, Canadian Tourism Commission, British Columbia, Travel Alberta and Great Southern Rail.

Specific modules will be included on iconic Canadian and Australian rail journeys.

To apply, agents need to send an email to Jessica Halliday at railexpert@railplus.com.au explaining in 500 words or less why they want to become a Rail Expert. Submissions must be received by 5pm on Thursday, March 28.

The Dux – or top graduating agent – will receive two economy class flights to Canada with the runner up receiving two Gold Service tickets on the Ghan or Indian Pacific.

The third placed agent will receive a fully-funded place on an international Rail Plus famil, fourth place will get a return trip to Sydney for the NTIA awards and the fifth placed consultant will win a return trip to Melbourne for the 2013 Christmas TraveLeague lunch.

All 40 graduates will receive a Eurail Global Pass, a personalised trophy and an invitation to a graduation dinner in their state.
