Accor has added three new hotel developments to its pipeline in Vietnam, as it unveiled its first Vietnamese economy offering – the Ibis Saigon South.

The additional projects, all in Danang, will see the hospitality firm open 16 new hotels there by 2015. It already has 13 properties in the destination.

Chief development and investment officer Gaurav Bhushan said the country provided “continued promise” for Accor.

“Accor has operated in Vietnam for 21 years and has developed a sound portfolio of hotels,” he said. “With healthy growth prospects, we will see the network expand to just short of 30 hotels by 2015.”

The firm described the new Ibis property as the “first international-quality economy hotel in Vietnam”.
