It’s Women in Travel Sponsor, Hawaiian Airlines!

THE INAUGURAL WOMEN IN TRAVEL AWARDS IS TOMORROW WITH FINALISTS REVEALED. ONE MAJOR SPONSOR OF THE EVENT IS NONE OTHER THAN Hawaiian Airlines.

Hawaiian Airlines, Hawai’i’s largest and longest-serving carrier, are celebrating success of its Australian operations which has continued to grow since its launch down under.

We chat with Gai Tyrrell, Hawaiian Airlines Regional Director Australia & New Zealand on their sponsorship of the inaugural Women in Travel Awards.

What does the Women in Travel event mean to you?

Congratulations to Travel Weekly on a brand new awards programme in Australia, which is certain to inspire women in travel to find, and do their best.

Whether you are a young woman in an entry-level position, a CEO or a doyen of travel with a wealth of experience over many decades, we can all mutually encourage, inspire and learn from one another.

Why did Hawaiian Airlines sponsor the event?

Hawaiian Airlines is selective in our sponsorships and we look out for involvements that make sense to our brand and our business and are good for the industries in which we are a stakeholder.

The Women in Travel awards are all about passion, independent and collaborative effort, striving for improvement in the business of travel and personal and professional pride in our achievements. All of that makes good sense to us.

This is the inaugural Women in Travel Awards in Australia. Why do you think this is an important event the travel industry should embrace?

It’s important for our industry to get behind initiatives that encourage innovation, ongoing improvement and attainment of standards of excellence.

What are you looking forward to most about the event?

We’re looking forward to the camaraderie when members of our industry come together to celebrate and to meeting the women setting new benchmarks in travel throughout Australia.

What’s the most important thing to focus on when it comes to women’s role in the travel industry?

Inspiration to do our best.  Women in travel are part of an exciting industry with enormous influence on numerous stakeholders.  At the frontline of retail, we directly influence the life experiences of our clients, behind the scenes we develop new standards, products, services, systems and travel possibilities.

Collectively, our work whether that be in travel agency, transport, tourism, hospitality, media, industry regulation impacts the lives of individuals and the economies of remote, regional, national and international communities.

If you haven’t got your ticket to attend the inaugural Women in Travel Awards – it’s now or never! Buy now before they run out!
