Singapore is lifting the last of its COVID restrictions for both residents and travellers as the country reopens after years or restrictions.

Beginning Monday rules around masks will be changed, but so too will the funding of Covid related treatment.

While masks will still be required for visitors, staff and patients in healthcare and residential facilities, they will no longer be compulsory in public transport.

Singapore rule changes:

  • Masks no longer required on public transport
  • Covid vaccines remain free
  • Treatment and testing no longer fully subsidised from April
  • Covid-19 patients will no longer be required to stay in community isolation, and it will cost if you decide to
  • All patients will be required to pay for Covid-19 tests from April 1
  • Treatment for people in hospital due to Covid -19 will no longer be fully subsidised by the government, regardless of their vaccination status
  • Some facilities will remain open, but patients will be charged a fee for their stay
  • Protocols for people who test positive for the virus will be scrapped, but are advised to exercise social responsibility
  • Tracing apps such as TraceTogether and SafeEntry will no longer required. Data collected during the time the systems were running will be deleted
  • Unvaccinated travellers entering Singapore will not need to produce a pre-departure test
  • Unvaccinated short-term visitors will no longer have to purchase Covid-19 travel insurance

Travellers are advised to check the Singapore Covid-19 website for up-to-date information on any changes.
