Phu Quoc positioned to be the face of luxury tourism in Vietnam

Sun Group, one of Vietnam’s leading integrated hospitality, entertainment, infrastructure and real
estate companies is positioning Phu Quoc for a bright new era of luxury tourism.

Collaborating with strategic partners, including aspirational brands, world-renowned architects and dazzling designers, this forward-thinking company is crafting a series of highly original five-star hotels and resorts that will attract the world’s most discerning travellers to Phu Quoc.

Sun Group has already created some of Phu Quoc’s most sought-after places to stay, which have elevated the island’s hospitality scene to new levels of excellence.

Crafted by Bill Bensley, the maverick of sustainable luxury design, the 234-room and suite JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort opened in 2016 and has already won multiple accolades, including 1st place in Travel + Leisure’s “Top 10 Best Resorts in Southeast Asia,” a 6th place in the “Top 100 Best Resorts in the World.” It was also chosen as the setting for the extravagant seven-day wedding of Indian billionaire Kaabia Grewal, which featured 700 guests and 125 performing artists!

In addition, the 375-villa New World Phu Quoc Resort, which is operated by the prestigious Rosewood Hotel Group, was named as the “Best Villa Resort in Asia” in the Haute Grandeur Global Awards, and La Festa Phu Quoc Curio Collection by Hilton, which is inspired by Italy’s Amalfi Coast, is set to welcome its first guests in the coming weeks.

Most recently, the company signed a milestone agreement with Marriott International that will introduce two more illustrious luxury hotel brands to Phu Quoc. Conceived by 10Design, the acclaimed architecture studio, The Luxury Collection Resort, Hon Thom Island will be a spectacular sail-shaped property with 305 rooms and suites and first-class facilities, including a Luxury Collection Spa and extensive event space.

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Hon Thom Island will be a blissful beachfront boutique retreat designed by Bill Bensley and featuring just 40 pool villas and five-star facilities, including a beachfront wedding venue. Upon opening, it will join a highly exclusive collection of just six Ritz-Carlton Reserves worldwide.

“Phu Quoc is no longer an emerging tourism destination – it has already arrived on the world stage,” chairman of the board of directors, Sun Group, Dang Minh Truong, said.

“Now, we are entering a new phase, as the ‘Pearl Island’ becomes a dream destination for luxury seekers.

“We understand that today’s affluent travellers are demanding new experiences they can’t find anywhere else.

“By working with the industry’s top hotel brands, designers and architects, Sun Group is successfully elevating the island’s tourism industry to new levels of refinement and elegance, all amid the stunning backdrop of Phu Quoc’s beautiful beaches and spectacular scenery.”
