The third annual, Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Conference in Asia-Pacific (AITCAP 2023) will be held on the Gold Coast this April to coincide with Queensland’s year of accessible tourism.

Over 200 tourism industry professionals are expected to converge on the Gold Coast for the Conference.

This event brings together stakeholders from across the tourism industry to help businesses better understand how they can service the growing accessible and inclusive tourism sector.

The event will feature an intensive 1-day in-person conference on April 28th and a 1-day virtual conference on May 11th and a range of side events.

“Hosting this conference will give us great insight into changing trends – and opportunities – globally,” Gold Coast City Mayor, Tom Tate, said.

“I welcome delegates and officials to Australia’s favourite playground and trust you find your time here both stimulating and rewarding.”

Thanks to the support of City of Gold Coast, Queensland will become the first destination in Australia to host The Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Conference, after two years of being a fully virtual event.

The in-person event will prelude the Australian Tourism Exchange, maximising the opportunity for delegates to attend both events for even more potential to develop and grow their customer base.

The conference will present a thought-provoking mix of keynotes and practical workshops for attendees to gain tangible strategies to drive more customers with access requirements to their business.

However, the purpose of this conference is not simply about learning new things. Indeed, at the heart of this annual event is the connection between attendees from various organisations around the region who are working toward a common goal of making travel more accessible for everybody.

The Event will take place at the SeaWorld Resort Conference Centre and on a dedicated online platform, both chosen for their accessibility.
