Jumping into bed with hotel guests
From bed-wear to debauchery, it’s an interesting peek inside global hotel rooms.
Unable to resist temptation any longer, Hotels.com has jumped into bed with travellers, asking people from around the world to reveal their bedtime secrets.
And despite our laidback, liberated attitudes, it seems Aussies aren’t as cheeky as you’d think, with less than 40% of us getting it on in hotel rooms.
On top of that, almost half of Aussie travellers sleep in their onesie, however the other 40% of Aussies are virtually split in half, opting for either their birthday suit or underwear.
This lines up with most of the planet, with the most popular sleeping attire of travellers around the world being pyjamas at 40%, closely followed by undergarments at 34%.
The French, of course, prefer being au naturel, with more than half saying they prefer to sleep in the nude, and far less choosing to sleep in their jammies.
Meanwhile our friends from Thailand and Hong Kong don’t even bother changing into pyjamas with a convincing 52% and 47% respectively preferring to wear their regular clothes to bed.
But back to our sexual antics, it turns out only 48% of the world’s travellers have made love in their hotel beds.
And in typical European fashion, 70% of the Spaniards proudly admit to spicing things up between the sheets.
Sadly, it seems Aussies have other bedroom activities on the brain, with 72% preferring to watch movies, and 40% enjoying a good book in bed instead.
Australia’s lovemaking habits rank fifth to last and are only above the likes of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan.
Interestingly, 53% of the world’s holidaymakers state that they prefer to sleep on one side or another. The most popular sleeping position for Aussie travellers is on the left side (28%).
