Etihad Airways will this week mark the airline's 10th anniversary and seven years of flying to the Philippines at a cocktail event in Manila.

The anniversary celebrations reflect the airline's growth in the Philippines and its importance to the airline, president and chief executive James Hogan said.

The airline operates twice daily services to Manila using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

 

Tourism New Zealand and China Southern Airlines will jointly explore opportunities to promote tourism to New Zealand in China with the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding.

The three year agreement, signed in Guangzhou, China will be valid up to 30 June 2016.

 

Serviced apartment firm The Ascott Limited is investing $5.1 million on the refurbishment of its Somerset St Georges Terrace property located in Perth's CBD.

The makeover of the 85-unit property will take place in phases and is due for completion in mid-January 2014.

"We see immense potential investing further in the Western Australia market," regional general manager Kenneth Rogers said.

"The refurbishment of Somerset St Georges Terrace will continue to enhance customer experience and see the property well positioned to service the buoyant market." 

 

Cruise line P&O Cruises has hit a new social media milestone by notching up more than 250,000 Facebook likes.

The page has been growing at "a rate of knots", according to P&O, averaging 12,000 new fans a month.
