Excite unveils new web-based product
By admin

Australia-based online wholesaler Excite Holidays has officially launched its new web services product, ExciteConnect, at Arabian Travel Market.

Speaking to Travel Today, Excite Holidays chief technology officer Damian Sutton highlighted the new product’s offer of “high quality” accommodation, activities and transfer services through a combination of direct contracts and filtration of content from worldwide sources.

Currently ExciteConnect offers access to 250,000 hotels and apartments worldwide and a selection of 5,500 activities in more than 330 cities.

While many travel agents are already comfortable using Excite Holidays’ existing  web interface, the wholesaler recognises that not all do – one of the main reasons behind the development of ExciteConnect. With the launch of the new product, Excite is offering potential clients another way to connect to its inventory.

“We’ve been very successful in the B2B market as far as providing a service to our travel agents, and we wanted to extend that and reach people that didn’t want to interact with our website interface and provide them with all of the inventory that we have as a service,” Sutton said.

The new product launch represents “just one step” in a continuous evolution to provide premium service to clients.

“This is the beginning, this is something we will focus on and I’m very confident to say this is just phase one,” Sutton said. “As a company Excite Holidays has a lot of experience with our relationship with travel agents and this really is the best practice web service.

“The response has been fantastic and so encouraging. I’m very happy with it.”
