Emirates to host Australian trade in NZ
By admin

Emirates has confirmed it will host its annual incentive for the Australian trade in New Zealand – the first time the event has been held outside Australia.

NZ regional tourism organisation, Hawkes Bay Tourism, will host 28 of the airline's Australian top sellers and executive team, as part of its annual "thank you" weekend.

The group, which will include Flight Centre's Graham Turner and Jetset Travelworld Group boss Rob Gurney, will stay at five-star luxury lodge The Farm at Cape Kidnappers with the opportunity to experience the region's restaurants, wineries and activities.

Emirates attributed the decision to host the event across the ditch to the success of the TNZ mega famil which was held in May.

"Not only do we re-inforce the quality of our twenty-eight weekly trans-Tasman services to a really influential group of Australia’s travel industry we can also showcase and deliver one of New Zealand’s premium top end regions," vice president Australasia Barry Brown said.

Meanwhile, Tourism New Zealand general manager Australia Tim Burgess welcomed the oppprtunity to further build NZ's profile in Australia.

"This incentive is also the sort of activity we will seek to increase with the commencement of Tourism New Zealand's new three-year marketing strategy as we focus on positioning New Zealand as a premium visitor destination," he said.
