There may be debate about which country produces the best olive oil, but you’d be hard pressed to go past Count Francesco Miari Fulcis of Tuscany’s organic range, with samplings available exclusively on Trafalgar’s Be My Guest Italian tours.

As one of the original “Be My Guest” experiences, and available on two Trafalgar itineraries, the private tour of Fattoria Di Maiano’s olive oil estate in Tuscany is just one example of highlights guests can expect on over 100 bespoke dining offerings across the guided-holidays’ entire range of tours.

“We are giving our guests a genuine real authentic experience. We’re not just ticking the tourist boxes,” Trafalgar managing director, Matt Cameron-Smith said.

“It’s about meeting locals who have a story to tell, a taste of what life is actually like, and to get a tactile experience.”

The Be My Guest experiences will expand in 2015 with two new vineyard tours in Wales to be offered exclusively to Trafalgar guests.

As one of the oldest families native to Italy, the Count also manages one of the biggest olive oil farms in the country with some 20,000 trees across 3000 hectares.

“Everybody knows a lot about wine but nobody knows about olive oil,” he said at an exclusive tasting event in Sydney this week.

Awarded as one of the best olive oil in the world, the Count said his dream was to “put the same oil that's in the fruit in the bottle".

This Be My Guest experience is available on Gladiators, Gondolas and Gold Family Experiences and the Great Italian Cities At Leisure guided holidays.
