2023’s best spring destinations revealed
British hotel chain, Premier Inn, has analysed thousands of TripAdvisor reviews to find out which world destination share the most mentions of the word ‘spring’ in a bid to help travellers plan their next adventure.
The Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth has been rated as the best spring destination in Australia by TripAdvisor users, with over 670 reviews boasting about the park’s natural beauty and breathtaking views of the city skyline, a must-visit destination for anyone travelling to Western Australia during Spring.
Meanwhile, in Sydney, the Royal Botanic Garden has one of the world’s most biodiverse gardens, not to mention stunning views of the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. With 230 mentions of ‘Spring’ in its reviews, the Garden is Australia’s second-best Spring sight.
Further afield in Canberra, the Floriade flower and entertainment festival is sure to satisfy the whole family. From live music and entertainment to art displays, there is a range of interactive activities for all ages. Clearly being a fan-favourite, Spring was mentioned in 153 TripAdvisor reviews, earning this event third place in the Australian rankings.
On the global front, the USA appears the best country to visit for a spring trip, with eight American locations making the top 15 ‘spring sights’ global list.

New York City’s Central Park takes the crown overall, with over 2,300 ‘Spring’ mentions on TripAdvisor praising the green space’s Kwanzan and Yoshino cherry trees, which come into a splendid bloom during the spring season.
Also famed for an abundance of floral colours, Biltmore in Asheville follows closely behind, with the ‘Biltmore Blooms’ display at Biltmore Estate showcasing thousands of bulbs, plants, shrubs and trees.
Heading back to New York City to round off the top three sights, you can see immaculate Lady Jane tulips and Virginia bluebells at the High Line. Toyo-Nishiki flowering quince blooms throughout the season, and you can take a picnic basket to pick up the wonderful fruit for some spring-inspired pie baking.
Lisse’s Keukenhof in The Netherlands is the first European destination to feature, with over a thousand reviews hailing the spring garden’s staggering seven million flower bulbs on display, from fragrant Hyacinths to colour-bursting Tulips.
Elsewhere in Europe, the Parisian Luxembourg Gardens (8th), which comprise mainly of formal gardens designed by Le Nôtre have reviewers raving, as well as Vienna’s Schönbrunn Place (eleventh), which stands for ‘Beautiful Spring’.
Canada and the UK also play host to wonderful spring destinations that make the top 15; The Butchart Gardens in Central Saanich ranked 6th, while the UK sees the Kew’s Royal Botanic Gardens and London’s St. James’ Park in 13 and 14th place respectively.
