Emirates A380 returning to NZ (not Auckland!), Melbourne to Singapore service returns

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, today takes another leap in the increase of its Australian capacity with the reintroduction of services from Melbourne to Singapore and Sydney to Christchurch, expanding on the airline’s travel destinations for Australians.

In Melbourne, the EK404/405 service will provide Australians connecting to Singapore with a better experience. Customers not only have a new connection to the popular financial and tourism hub, but also have the option to fly onwards to Dubai. The third daily flight will operate on a Boeing 777-300ER.

The newly restored third Dubai-Melbourne flight will serve strong demand between both cities, as well as offering customers Emirates’ signature product and service experience.

From Sydney, the existing EK412/413 service between Dubai and Sydney, will now expand to offer Australians onwards travel to Christchurch and the only A380 Trans-Tasman experience between Australia and New Zealand.

“We also welcome back our Sydney-Christchurch service, a favourite for travellers between New Zealand and Australia. As the only A380 experience between the sister countries across the Trans-Tasman, passengers will be able to take advantage of Emirates’ signature experience, including a superior First and Business Class offering, plus our highly popular Premium Economy cabin, one of the best in the air.”

On Emirates‘ A380s flying from Sydney to Christchurch, First Class passengers can look forward to luxury in the comfort of their private suites and enjoy the industry’s only Onboard Shower Spa. First Class and Business Class passengers can socialise and sample canapés and cocktails at the popular Onboard Lounge and passengers in all classes can enjoy the regionally inspired gourmet cuisine.

 Emirates’ Premium Economy, also available on the A380, is in a class of its own. Passengers are offered an experience unmatched in the industry and the opportunity to trade up from Economy at excellent value. The cabin is accented with cream-coloured leather and a wood panel finishing reminiscent of Business Class and each seat is designed to provide optimal comfort and support with 6-way adjustable headrests, a spacious cabin seat at 19.5 inches, with a 40-inch roomy pitch with a generous recline, a footrest and luxurious wood panelling, in addition to other meticulous touches.

Customers travelling between Melbourne-Singapore-Dubai can benefit from Emirates’ award-winning service and industry-leading products on board the airline’s three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering private suites in First Class, lie flat seats in Business Class and spacious Economy Class seats.

On both aircraft, passengers can enjoy the unmatched array of more than 5,000 channels of music, movies, TV, news, and other content on Emirates’ award-winning ice.

Emirates’ reinstated services

Melbourne – Dubai: third daily service via Singapore

Emirates’ third flight to Melbourne will operate as EK404 using a Boeing 777-300ER and will depart Dubai at 2115hrs, arriving in Singapore at 0850hrs. The flight will then continue on to Melbourne taking off at 1025hrs from Singapore, arriving at 2035hrs local time. The return service to Dubai EK405 takes off from Melbourne at 0325hrs, arriving in Singapore at 0815hrs. The flight will then take off for Dubai at 0940hrs, arriving at 1300hrs local time.

Restart of Christchurch via Sydney

Emirates’ services to Christchurch via Sydney and its flagship A380 will operate as EK412 an EK413. Emirates flight EK412 departs Dubai at 1015hrs, arriving in Sydney at 0700hrs. The flight will then continue, taking off from Sydney at 0845hrs, arriving in Christchurch at 1350hrs. EK413 will then depart Christchurch at 1820hrs, arriving in Sydney at 1940hrs. The final leg of EK413 will depart to Dubai at 2145hrs, arriving at 0515hrs local time.
