Explore Worldwide has launched its Go Solo & SAVE sale. Until 1 March 2023, the operator is offering free single supplements on hundreds of 2023 departures.

There are also hundreds of others at half price – saving up to $1720 per person.

The sale comes as Explore announces a surge in solo travellers joining its small group trips – now comprising 66 per cent of an average group.

“We’re seeing a sharp increase in solo travel” said regional director, Explore, Ben Ittensohn.

“Rather than waiting for family, friends or partners to join their next adventure, travellers are seizing the moment, and joining our trips on their own.

“We wanted to launch a sale that was really attractive in the current environment to help our agent partners capture this demand.”

The operator’s small group trips are designed with solo travellers, as well as couples or friends, in mind. Hundreds of bestselling trips are included in the Go Solo & SAVE Sale, including the three that index most highly for single travellers on walking holidays: Toubkal Climb, Walking Albania and Trekking Picos de Europa.

Other tours include: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, exploring the temples and UNESCO-listed cities of Vietnam, to cycling through the varied landscapes of Kerala or the Baltic States. Travellers have until 1 March to book their trip and benefit from a discounted single supplement on departures until the end of the year.

Explore’s programme includes over 100 countries and, while the five top destinations for solo travellers are all in Europe – Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Greece are in 1st to 5th place – the most popular destinations include Jordan, Morocco, Peru, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia.

“September and October are proving to be the most popular travel months for solo travellers, as they take advantage of great weather conditions and prices. Agents are once again encouraged to contact the team,” concluded Ittensohn.
