Aman opens new hotel in New York

Leading luxury hotel group Aman has opened the doors to its newest flagship property in the historic Crown building of midtown Manhattan. Aman New York, being pegged as the world’s most expensive hotel right now, will also be home to the first Aman Club and Aman Branded Residences.

Designed by renowned architect Jean-Michael Gathy of Denniston Architects, the property features an aesthetic that marries the brand’s Asian heritage with New York’s palpable energy, with signature muted tones used throughout.

Apart from the 83 spacious suites, the hotel is home to four F&B venues including the Garden Terrace offering a year-round alfresco experience; Arva, an Italian restaurant; Nama, a Japanese Omakase concept and the Jazz Club which will host daily performances. There is also the Aman Spa, spread over three floors, where amenities include an indoor pool and private ‘Spa Houses’ featuring double treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms and private outdoor terrace complete with cabana and fireplace.

Aman Chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin said, “The opening of Aman New York is a milestone moment in the evolution and growth of the Aman brand, cementing our strategy to bring the coveted Aman lifestyle to the world’s greatest urban locations.”

“The hotel, Aman Club and Aman Branded Residences bring an entirely new proposition to Manhattan.”

Aman Club facilities include a private garden terrace, cigar lounge and wine room.  The 22 serviced residences, meanwhile, will be situated in the building’s upper floors, and offer an opportunity to live the Aman life longer term.
This is the third Aman property in the US, with two more set to open in Miami and Beverly Hills in 2024 and 2026 respectively. It is the second urban resort for the brand, the other city property being in Tokyo; Aman also briefly ran a hotel in Delhi but the management changed hands in 2013.
