Tourism Western Australia partners with AAT Kings and showcases WA wildlife to Sydney

Tourism WA and AAT Kings have partnered to provide travellers new adventures out in Western Australia.

The tour group is also offering savings of up to $600 per couple on selected Western Australia departures through early 2024.

The highest selling agent of WA guided tours will also win a 7-day Wildflower Wanderer tour, and 50 per cent off for a companion.

Travellers can experience iconic WA adventures from connecting with the First Nations culture of the Noongar people in Yanchep National Park and hearing stories of this sacred place, to walking the warm shallows of Monkey Mia and meeting the resident dolphins, snapping selfies with Rottnest’s quokkas, mimicking their adorable smile or spotting a whale on Busselton’s historic wooden jetty.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Tourism Western Australia to promote the rediscovery of WA,” AAT Kings Group CEO, Ben Hall, said.

“We know there is pent-up demand to explore this unique adventure destination, and we are excited to be sharing the world-class places, tastes and stories that the state has to offer.”

Tourism WA managing director Carolyn Turnbull said the cooperative marketing campaign will help to drive bookings for WA holidays.

“We’re pleased to partner with AAT Kings to promote the wonderful deals on offer for visitors, which will take travellers to some of the most iconic destinations across Western Australia,” Turnbull said.

“I encourage visitors to travel far and wide in WA while here on holiday – from the Kimberley to the Golden Outback, there is so much to see and explore.”

Alongside the new partnership, Tourism WA staged a showcase of Western Australia’s wildlife to Sydneysiders on Sunday morning when Broome’s famous camel train wandered along Palm Beach at sunrise, while a pop-up of giant inflatable quokkas adorned the shores of Bondi Beach.

The wildlife activations form part of Western Australia’s invitation to entice Australia’s east coast to book a holiday and tick-off some extraordinary ‘bucket list’ moments when they ‘wander out yonder in WA’.

“The uniquely West Australian pop-up activations in Sydney this weekend have been designed to re-ignite and engage Australia’s east coast with a playful and immersive taste of the unique experiences on offer in our state,” Turnbull said.

Staged at sunrise, Palm Beach locals were entranced as the camels, themed with landscape colours of Western Australia, trailed along the beach in the early soft light at sunrise.

Joining the camels were some WA celebrities including award-winning celebrity chef, Tony Howell; pearl farmer, gemmologist and pearl technician Celeste Boonaerts, and First Nations artist, educator and bush tucker specialist Dale Tilbrook.

Meanwhile, at Bondi Beach, a series of giant inflatable quokkas were installed along Campbell Parade inviting visitors and Bondi locals to nail the famous Instagram ‘selfie’ with the playful replicas of one of Australia’s most popular marsupials.

The gathering crowds over Saturday and Sunday were invited to enter a competition for the chance to win a $5000 voucher to holiday in Western Australia.
