Midweek Catch-up with Princess Cruises Nick Ferguson

Midweek Catch-up with Princess Cruises Nick Ferguson

This week, Princess Cruises’ senior director of sales, marketing and services took us to the courts for a friendly game of doubles. He began to regret his decision after our sixth coffee break.

What’s your main goal for this year?

Our ultimate goal is to strengthen our overall service delivery – much like our MedallionClass experience onboard! To help us get there, we’ve recently integrated our sales, marketing and customer teams to create a more streamlined and effortless experience for our customers and trade partners.

What’s your favourite thing about working in the travel industry?

The people and the places we visit. There are so many passionate people in the industry and, to be able to experience so many great destinations is an incredible bonus.

How do you like to spend your free time?

With my family, and, having three boys that play sport keeps me busy!

Have you managed to do any travelling since restrictions began to ease (domestic or international)?

I’ve been able to experience more of NSW than I normally would. I’ve been up and down both the North and South Coast of NSW visiting lots of beautiful destinations.

What’s your favourite travel company, besides the one you work for?

I spend a lot of time on TripAdvisor – reading the reviews is very insightful!

If you could invite three famous guests (dead or alive) to a dinner party, who would you choose?

Tennis player Rodger Federer, golfing pro Tiger Woods and Australian comedian, Carl Barron to entertain us.

What’s something positive you’ve witnessed or experienced since the global pandemic hit?

People slowing down and spending more quality time with family.

What’s your advice for others in the travel industry on coping with the global pandemic?

Stay positive, set yourself goals to improve your business and keep yourself busy through these challenging and uncertain times.

What book and/or TV show can you not get enough of lately?

I just finished the Tiger Woods book which was very dramatic for a sportsbook.

Do you have any travel goals for 2022?

I’d love to get across to the U.S.A to experience our newest MedallionClass ship, Discovery Princess which we’ve just taken delivery of.
