World’s first plant-friendly hotel encourages guests to bring along their greenery

You’ve heard of pet-friendly hotels, but what about plant-friendly?

From those who don’t trust their friends to water their plants correctly while they’re on holiday to you wonderful weirdos who just fancy carrying around a little potted cactus, we present to you the latest hotel trend:

Plant friendly rooms.

Yes, you read that correctly, there may actually be people out there willing to cart their monstera deliciosas and parlour palms along with them for their next hotel stay.

Elwood Hotel & Suites, a boutique hotel in Lexington, Kentucky, is encouraging plant parents to bring along their greenery with the introduction of what it’s heralding as the world’s first plant-friendly hotel experience; the Gardner’s Premiere Corner Room Package.

The hotel is about to launch a series of specially prepared “plant-friendly” suites in partnership with Visit Lex along with curated experiences for plant lovers, including Garden Mojito cocktail specials at the Fiddletree Kitchen and Bar, a nourishing “tea” for plants and a complimentary potted succulent as a take-home gift.

The room will also be full of plants from local nursery Pemberton’s Greenhouses and locally made botanical toiletries from Soaps & Such.

Considering we are just days away from the onslaught of April Fools Day pranks, we initially assumed this revelation was a hoax, however, a spokesperson for the hotel has assured us this is the real deal.

We are excited to see how this year’s pranks top this delightfully unusual reality.
