SNEAK PEEK: Art deco dream hotel to open next month in Sydney

SNEAK PEEK: Art deco dream hotel to open next month in Sydney

A heritage-listed, art deco hotel with a modern twist is opening its doors in Sydney next month with the arrival of Kimpton Margot Sydney.

And we’ve got some sneaky pictures to show off ahead of its grand unveiling.

From the grand, Scagliola pillared lobby to bold patterns, plush furnishings and botanical displays, Kimpton Margot Sydney shows off at every corner.

In keeping with Kimpton’s signature “Forgot it, we’ve got it” where guests can call the lobby and request items from a GHD to a pocket square – the hotel has set up some stellar partnerships to make sure it meets the needs of even the most discerning guests.

For those seeking reprieve, Kimpton has partnered with Egg of the Universe for its health and wellness offering, where guests are invited to workout, stretch, or do a few vinyasas from the comfort of their room, through a selection of Yoga workouts available on tablet and TV. Yoga mats and accessories are available on request at no charge.

The hotel has also partnered with Lekker bikes and mapped out the best of Sydney on wheels, so guests are free to grab some wheels and explore the city streets and nearby Hyde Park at leisure.

The best part? The hotel will host a daily Social Hour, where guests come together for daily complimentary drinks between 5-6pm.

The drinks on offer will vary daily – from boutique Australian wines to a Four Pillars G&T, or Kimpton’s signature Margot cocktail. Social Hour could be hosted in the lobby, on the mezzanine surrounded by artworks, at the rooftop bar, by the pool; the team will keep everyone guessing.

Located in the heart of Pitt Street, just down from the State Theatre and the QVB, Kimpton Margot Sydney boasts 172 incredibly spacious deco inspired rooms and suites – most with bathtubs and all with Mr Smith amenities, that feature whimsical wall art from global artists, including a signature installation by Tony Twigg.

The hotel features a rooftop swimming pool surrounded by a huge terrace, conference and event spaces bathed in natural light, and public spaces and restaurants including Luke’s Kitchen, helmed by renowned chef Luke Mangan.

Luke’s Kitchen will be the go-to spot for an a la carte breakfast, casual lunch or dimly lit atmospheric dinner.

Cellar By Luke, will highlight a unique wine experience, where guests will dine on daily culinary curations surrounded by walls of Australian and International wines. Also set amid the art-deco elegance of the surrounds will be the hotel’s 1930’s-style The Wilmot Bar, complete with plush velvet lounges and a swanky cocktail menu.
