Step Back in Time These School Holidays With Dinosaur Valley at Scenic World

Dinosaur Valley is now open at Scenic World in Katoomba, bringing the ancient rainforest to life with dozens of prehistoric dinosaurs until 27 February 2022.

Dinosaur Valley is a must-see family adventure, inviting visitors of all ages to experience nature in new ways in the heart of the Blue Mountains, as Scenic World is transformed into a prehistoric wonder.

The journey starts with a descent into the Jurassic rainforest via the world’s steepest railway, where visitors will come face to face with dozens of life-size, animatronic dinosaurs.

Guests will step back in time with friendly Dinosaur Rangers who can tell you all about the realistic reptiles on show, like Australia’s own ‘native nightmare’ Banjo (named after Banjo Patterson).

Marking the third iteration of the popular family event, two new dinosaurs will be introduced to the Dinosaur Valley herd this year.

A life-sized Fukuiraptor will also take centre stage from 18 December 2021 with Raptor Tales, a theatrical 20-minute puppet performance delivered in conjunction with acclaimed dinosaur wranglers, ERTH

Tickets are sold separately for the show, which is put on six times a day.

Visitors will be able to experience Dinosaur Valley at their own pace this summer, with travel on the Scenic Railway,  Skyway, Walkway and Cableway included; plus free Kids Trail Guides will keep the little ones entertained!

Scenic world managing director Anthea Hammon said: “We couldn’t be happier to welcome visitors back to the Blue Mountains after such a challenging year.”

“Major  events such as Dinosaur Valley provide the perfect excuse for a weekend getaway, but this year we are also encouraging  visitors to stay a while, and support local businesses during their stay” says Hammon.

Entry to Dinosaur Valley is priced from $49.90 for adults and $27.90 for children under 16 years. Children under three are free. Dine and Discover NSW vouchers are also being accepted until June 30, 2022.

Visitors aged 16+ must be fully vaccinated for entry before December 15, with vaccination certificates required upon entry. Vaccination is not mandatory for visitors under 16 years, but they must travel with a fully vaccinated adult.
