Aussie tour company shifts into wellness tourism with massive rebrand

Australian Wildlife Adventures (AWA) has rebranded with a refreshed wellness spin and a spiffy new name: Untamed Escapes.

As part of the transformation, the company has combined both its tour operators, Nullarbor Traveller and Xplore Eyre, to form one inclusive brand.

The change was prompted by AWA’s sidestep into wellness tourism post-COVID-19 and its ambition to become a leader in this space in Australia.

Anna Heaton, business development and marketing manager at AWA, said the company had been looking to develop a third brand for its new range of wellness tours as neither of its operators was aligned with this sort of product.

“There were already limitations with these brands having destinations in the names. We also had three websites and countless social media accounts to manage and were diluting our messaging,” Heaton said.

“We knew the time was right to create one strong and inclusive brand that would appeal to a wide audience, to showcase our diverse range of products.”

AWA’s Nullarbor Traveller and Xplore Eyre have connected travellers with a range of adventure, wildlife, and epicurean tours throughout South Australia and Western Australia for almost two decades.

“The past two years have been a challenging and sometimes scary time,” Untamed Escapes owner Craig “Hassie” Haslam said.

“But we have been able to use this opportunity to reflect and diversify, and in all honesty, I think we will come out the other side of this pandemic even stronger.”

“I have been doing this a long time, and for those that know me, I’m sure will have a laugh that my company is moving into the wellness space. Thankfully, I have a talented wellness development manager, Jodie Douglas, who will be the face of this part of the business.”
