WATCH: Flight attendant promises to annoy passengers who don’t wear a mask
A TikTok user has captured the hilarious moment her flight attendant promised to “be annoying” toward passengers who didn’t comply with the US’ federal mask mandate.
Tyler Janee posted the clip on 9 September, complete with some on-point reactions as she listens to the cabin crew member’s message.
In the video, you can hear what sounds like a flight attendant making an announcement to passengers.
“We see you without your face coverings,” the flight attendant said.
“I know it’s a 46-minute flight, you all look tired – we already established that – so you might fall asleep. If that face covering is not on your face properly, I will wake you up and I do not care, okay?
“I will be annoying. We don’t have to be annoying, but I will be.”
The flight attendant, who is not shown in the clip, even seems to promise to stick COVID tests in unsuspecting noses.
“So, I already see some noses right now, and we’ve got COVID tests on board; we will swab you,” she said.
The airline and location of the flight are not revealed in the clip, but it is assumed to have taken place in the US, based on the attendant’s accent and the country’s strict mask mandate.

The video sparked division in Janee’s comment section, with more than a few commenters calling out the flight attendant for being “unprofessional”.
“Right message, wrong attitude,” one TikTok user said.
“You wake me up, you better have a better reason than that,” another user added.
“There’s a way to be professional about this. If I owned an airline and heard an employee speaking like this to paying customers, I’d be upset,” said another.
However, the majority of commenters applauded the flight attendant’s message.
“I’m here for her attitude,” a TiktTok user chimed in.
“UNPROFESSIONAL??? She’s keeping the airline from getting sued bc the EXACT ones that refuse to keep their masks on will turn around and Larry Lawyer,” another commented.
Our favourite comment came from a user whose display name was a dynamite emoji.
“Give that flight attendant a raise!!!” they said.
Last month, a woman from Virginia slammed Southwest Airlines after claiming a flight attendant told her to glue a mask to her distressed toddler’s face.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently revealed it had proposed more than $1 million in fines to unruly passengers in 2021 so far, including 3,889 reports of disruptive passengers, with a majority (2,867) handed out to passengers who refused to comply with the country’s mask mandate.
The number of unruly passenger reports in the US has skyrocketed since the beginning of the global pandemic, with only 693 recorded in 2020 and 183 in 2019.
