Aurora Expeditions jumps on mandatory vaccination bandwagon

Aurora Expeditions jumps on mandatory vaccination bandwagon

Aurora Expeditions is the latest travel brand to mandate COVID-19 vaccination for passengers and staff, and has released an expanded 2022/23 season brochure to sweeten the deal.

The adventure cruise company has updated its health and safety program to include mandatory vaccination for all passengers and crew prior to embarking on any of its voyages in preparation for the resumption of expedition cruising.

“Aurora Expeditions is excited about the world emerging from COVID-19 and is looking forward to the resumption of cruising and returning to doing what we do best – small-ship expeditions – in our 30th year of operation,”  said Monique Ponfoort, CEO of Aurora Expeditions.

“Our health and safety program has been strengthened and will be precisely followed, including the highest level of pre-cruising preventative measures, the capability for PCR testing on board if required, and a robust response plan and protocols on board, designed to bring peace of mind to all of our guests and crew.”

And, to get your clients hyped about cruising again, Aurora has unveiled an expanded 2022-23 season brochure with 16 new and itineraries and several returning favourites. Plus, the company’s new ship, Sylvia Earle, will make her debut as part of the season.

Along with Aurora’s Antarctica program, new itineraries featured in the brochure include the line’s first voyages to Alaska on its own vessels, the legendary Northwest Passage, the fascinating far-east of Russia, and the marine biodiversity hotspot of Raja Ampat and the West Papua islands.

“Aurora Expeditions’ 2022-23 season is sure to provide the captivating and perspective-altering experiences that our guests continue to return for,” Ponfoort said.

“Our two ships in the fleet, the Greg Mortimer and the Sylvia Earle, are both new, beautifully appointed and utilise the latest technology including the revolutionary Ulstein X-Bow hull, which ensures we can explore the furthest reaches of our planet smoothly and efficiently.

“It’s such an opportunity to be immersed in the ocean and be connected to the places that you go, and don’t go just to absorb – go to give back and share what you have learned elsewhere, and connect with the locals, open people’s minds.”
