CLIA to present its most coveted award at Cruise360

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is shaking things up this year by presenting its Cruise Champion award a little differently.

The coveted award is usually presented at CLIA’s annual Cruise Industry Awards to honour an individual travel agent member who has excelled as a champion for the cruise industry.

Despite the awards and presentation being suspended during the pandemic, CLIA will make a special presentation of the Cruise Champion category in recognition of the devastating circumstances travel agents have been operating in.

“The Cruise Champion award honours an outstanding individual who embodies CLIA’s mission of educating, advocating and promoting the cruise industry,” said Joel Katz, managing director for Australasia at CLIA.

“In such difficult times, we are incredibly grateful for the support and determination shown by our members, so we want to celebrate those who have continued to strive for our industry’s future success.”

The award is open to CLIA Australasia travel agent members for self- or peer-nomination until 31 July 2021, and the winner will be announced at Cruise360 Australasia in Sydney on 27 August 2021.
