Tourism Tasmania offers free thermal underwear to visitors this winter

Tourism Tasmania has recognised that sometimes mainlanders can be underprepared for The state’s wintry wilds, so it is helping out with a pair of thermal long johns for their visit.

As part of its anti-ordinary ‘Off Season’ winter campaign, Tourism Tasmania is supporting travellers to embrace winter and revel in the season by providing a limited number of free merino wool Loan Johns to keep travellers toasty warm during their wild winter adventures.

“Tasmanians are a generous and creative bunch with a strong sense of community,” Tourism Tasmania CEO John Fitzgerald said.

“We understand how to do winter properly and want to ensure our visitors are comfy and warm during their ‘Off Season’ adventures.

“Our tourism industry has also got on board this campaign with hundreds of creative ‘Off Season’ experiences that visitors can only enjoy during winter in Tassie.”

Tourism Tasmania has partnered with Virgin Australia to help launch Loan Johns.

On Friday, passengers on flight VA1528 from Sydney to Hobart were welcomed on board by the pilot and cabin crew wearing Tassie Loan Johns and were the first travellers to be treated to a complimentary pair on arrival into Tasmania.

Interstate travellers had the opportunity on Saturday to pick up a pair of Loan Johns from a designated stand at Launceston Airport, and will get another one on Friday 2 July at Hobart Airport.
