Scenic announces exclusive Aussie cruise season for 2021, but there’s a catch

Scenic Group has announced that its ultra-luxury yacht, Scenic Eclipse, will cruise in Australian waters for an exclusive and limited season this year.

The new program features two 11-day Kimberley handcrafted ‘Discovery Voyages’ operating between Darwin and Broome, with departures from 19 June to 8 August 2021.

The exclusive Scenic Eclipse Kimberley Discovery Voyages will be available for only up to 228 guests (114 suites).

The yacht’s six-star amenities include spacious all-balcony suites which start from 32 square metres, up to 10 dining experiences, nine bars and lounges, the expansive 550-square-metre Senses Spa, as well as a gym, Pilates and yoga studio.

Guests during the Australian season will be the first to enjoy Scenic Eclipse’s latest innovations, with the addition of new cabanas and a Panorama Bar on Deck 10, the reimagined Yacht Club, Asian fusion dining with the new Night Market @ Koko’s, and culinary masterclasses at Epicure.

As part of its commitment to sustainable travel, Scenic has invested in state-of- the-art technology and environmentally sustainable systems to leave as small a footprint as possible.

This includes a GPS dynamic positioning system which maintains Scenic Eclipse’s location without dropping anchor on the Kimberley’s sensitive sea beds.

Scenic’s health and safety protocols will also be implemented to ensure the wellbeing of guests and crew for these exclusive voyages, including Scenic Eclipse’s advanced HVAC system, which ensures 100 per cent circulation of fresh air in each suite and in public areas.

Anthony Laver, group general manager of sales and marketing for Australasia at Scenic, said: “We are very proud to bring Scenic Eclipse to our waters for the first time, providing Australians with the opportunity to experience the benchmark in six-star ultra-luxury cruising.

Scenic Eclipse’s innovative and intimate yacht design provides a wealth of world-class facilities, choice of dining, relaxation and wellness, combined with unrivalled exploration of the Kimberley’s remarkable coastline.

“Whether it’s soaring above in our two Airbus HJ130-T2 helicopters or exploring by Zodiac with an expert discovery team, our guests will have the ultimate truly all-inclusive ‘ultra-luxury meets discovery’ experience.”

However, in the fine print of Scenic’s announcement, it noted that the exclusive season “is subject to the grant of Australian and international regulatory approvals for operations within Australian territorial waters”.
