Celeb chef Luke Nguyen to host new APT Vietnam, Cambodia tours

Bookings can now be made for APT’s next season of Southeast Asian journeys, which will feature the company’s brand-new ship, Mekong Serenity.

Cruising along the Mekong River, the Mekong Serenity boasts some of the largest entry-level suites among vessels cruising the river, according to APT, with all suite categories set to include their own private balcony.

In more good news, APT ambassador and acclaimed chef Luke Nguyen, who has been an important contributor to the dining experience on the new ship, will also be hosting an APT tour in the region.

Nguyen said he was excited to be part of the development of the ship’s restaurant.

“I’m very proud that my authentic yet modern Vietnamese cuisine is so well-received by diners, and it gives me so much pleasure shaping the menu for this special cruise in my homeland,” he said.

The brand-new Mekong Serenity features just 44 suites for a maximum of 88 guests, and offers some of the largest entry-level suites on the Mekong at 28-square-metres.

Exclusive to APT is the onboard ‘Indochine by Luke Nguyen’ restaurant, where guests can enjoy Vietnamese cuisine inside a private dining room of 16 people, with an exclusive five-course menu designed by Nguyen.

To complement the ship’s public areas and facilities, Mekong Serenity features an air-conditioned Harmony Lounge and Bar, wellness spa, salon and fitness centre, sun deck, a spacious swimming pool, gift shop, complimentary WiFi throughout, nightly entertainment, and free laundry service.

Bookings made prior to 28 February 2021 on trips of 13 days or more will save $2,400 per couple.

The 13-day ‘Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights’ tour starts from just $5,995 per person twin share (including discount).

Further features of this tour include seven nights aboard Mekong Serenity, an exclusive dining experience at Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam House in Ho Chi Minh City, and Freedom of Choice inclusions in three locations, among other features.

Guests also have access to a range of Signature Experiences, providing further enrichment to their experience of each destination.

Nguyen will also return in 2021 to join guests on one special departure where they will get a taste for Nguyen’s unique style.

The special 14-day ‘Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam and Mekong River Cruise’ departs on 26 November 2021 and is priced from $8,095 per person, twin share.

In response to the current era, APT is including its Flexible International Booking Cover on all bookings made until 31 December 2020, which comes as part of the APT Assurance program.

Features of the program include flexible booking cover, the ability to postpone holidays with any paid deposit transferred to another date or trip up to 65 days prior to departure, no change fees up to 65 days prior to departure, reduced deposits of just $500 per person, and the delay of final payments to 65 days prior to departure.
