One&Only opens first Asian resort

In positive hospitality news, luxury brand One&Only has opened its first resort in Asia.

One&Only Desaru Coast, which is found at the south-eastern shoreline of Malaysia between lush rainforests and the South China Sea, opened for the very first time on Sunday.

The resort extends expansively across 128 acres of unspoilt wild flora and a pristine 1.5-kilometre stretch of private white sand beach.

Designed by the award-winning Kerry Hill Architects, the first One&Only resort in Asia is an architectural gem, weaving local art and nature into every corner, which the company said will offer a true retreat from city life.

Easily accessible in just two hours by car from Singapore and 45 minutes to Johor’s Senai Airport, the ultra-luxury tropical escape will offer guests ultimate privacy, leading wellness programs, destination-defining cuisine and curated experiences that “truly celebrate the destination”.

The resort will also offer 50 private homes available to own or rent, ideal for families or those who desire a spacious haven to make their own – perhaps the perfect destination close to home, once international travel resumes once again?

Internationally, One&Only Resorts has several other properties that have re-opened recently following a period of closure because of COVID-19.

These include One&Only Royal Mirage Dubai, One&Only The Palm Dubai, One&Only Reethi Rah Maldives, One&Only Le Saint Géran Mauritius, and One&Only Gorilla’s Nest Rwanda.
