TMS Talent diversifies with new acquisition

Global recruitment firm TMS Talent has announced the acquisition of digital and technology specialist recruitment business Scout Talent.

Headquartered in Sydney, Scout provides digital and technology talent to clients across a range of industry sectors, and is known for offering a consultative approach in response to accelerating digital and technology shifts and demands in businesses.

Scout’s philosophy is to provide solutions to its clients and job seekers by offering training and people development in addition to the full recruitment process and, in turn, developing a supportive and more networked community.

John Terry (pictured above), group managing director at TMS, said: “We have a clear vision and unwavering drive and passion to continue providing high-touch recruitment services to our clients across the travel and hospitality sectors as we navigate our way through the current market conditions brought on our industry by the COVID 19 pandemic.

“Being awarded the Travel Recruiter of the Year 2019 at The Travel Awards in Sydney really affirmed our position as the leader in the travel and hospitality recruitment sector.

“This paved the way for the next phase of our growth plan to diversify into the digital and technology sector.”

TMS chairman Steve Hamblin said: “The acquisition of Scout is a natural progression for us as we continue to position ourselves as a brand synonymous with being specialist in our chosen markets and disciplines.

“Scout’s market is an exciting place and strategically where we need to be. It will also provide further learning opportunities for current and future staff.”

As part of the acquisition, Scout managing director Patrick Flaherty will join TMS Talent as its sales director across Australia and New Zealand. Also joining TMS Talent team from Scout is associate director Jamie Ware.

Commenting on the acquisition, Flaherty said: “TMS Talent’s values and vision translating into its strong and well-respected service offering to their market was evident and a major factor in our decision to make this move.

“Jamie and I are thrilled with the outcome and are committed to a seamless transition for our clients and job seekers, whilst we all mutually benefit from the coming together of two strong specialist brands.”
