TAG Group joins forces with renowned corporate travel consultants

Well-known corporate travel consultants Niall McNamara and Luke Hardaker of APEX Travel Group will trade under the TAG Group portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region from next month.

Having made a name for themselves at Flight Centre, McNamara and Hardaker have continued building on their status as experts across the high-service SME corporate and private concierge travel markets over the past 20 years.

TAG’s managing director for APAC, Shane Barr (pictured above, centre), said the partnership with McNamara (pictured above, right) and Hardaker (pictured above, left) is a huge coup for the company, which already has a solid private leisure travel division.

“It’s no secret that the travel industry has been hit hard with the recent global crisis, so to bring news of growth at this time is not only encouraging, but really refreshing,” he said.

“We’re delighted to welcome Luke and Niall to the TAG family.”

Commenting on the move, Hardaker said: “Naturally, we’d heard of TAG and knew their values and culture aligned with our own. Being able to join them and establish their private travel division for the APAC region is a fantastic opportunity.”

McNamara said: “Luke and I have always worked to deliver a high-touch concierge service to our SME clients, but we knew we had to be competitive with the online offerings.

“We built up a following at Flight Centre and Concierge Traveller based on our service, and this was something we were passionate about maintaining and expanding. Luckily, this is TAG’s ethos too, so joining forces was an obvious choice for us.”

The APEX Travel team will be based mainly in the TAG offices in Sydney, but also in remote locations throughout the region.
