Qantas reprises ‘I Still Call Australia Home Campaign’ with Australian Girls and Gondwana National choirs

While we won’t be going overseas anytime soon, that hasn’t stopped Qantas releasing a new and very COVID-19 version of its much-loved ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ campaign.

The social media spot features the Australian Girls Choir and the Gondwana National Choirs, and was all shot from the kids’ homes via smartphones.

The children are all aged eight to 18 and were located all over Australia from Toowoomba in Queensland and Wollongong in NSW, to Albany in Western Australia and Adelaide in South Australia.

Qantas engaged creative agency The Monkeys to compile the footage and develop the final version.

The adaptation of the Peter Allen classic was composed and directed by Elliott Wheeler, founder of Turning Studios, who has been working with Qantas on creating their centenary campaign launch.

Speaking to Travel Weekly’s sister publication, B&T, Qantas chief customer officer Stephanie Tully said: “If isolation and travel restrictions have shown Australians anything, it’s how much they value seeing the people and places they love.

“As domestic and trans-Tasman travel restrictions begin to ease, we hope this short video inspires people to start thinking about their next trip, particularly to destinations that are a little closer to home.”
