Cover-More announces partnership with TravelManagers Australia

Cover-More has announced a new partnership with Australia’s largest home-based mobile travel network, TravelManagers.

The partnership effective from 1 January 2020 confirms Cover-More as TravelManagers’ preferred travel insurance provider for the next three years.

Through Cover-More, TravelManagers’ clients will have access to industry-first policy benefits, including Cancel-For-Any-Reason. Cover-More launched the Cancel-For-Any-Reason add-on in 2018 in response to travellers seeking more flexible cover that reflected how and where they want to travel. TravelManagers clients will also be able to earn Virgin Velocity points when they purchase their Cover-More policy.

Out in India famil opportunity 

Out in India is offering ten experienced agents the opportunity to join a VIP complimentary famil, September this year.

From Cochin (named in Lonely Planet’s Top Cities for 2020), this eleven-night boutique-style itinerary, with all single rooms, will include great local experiences, such as tuk-tuk ride and Indian cooking lesson, a stay in a tea plantation, wildlife sanctuary, Kerala houseboat and ending up on the beach at Marari.

Priority will be given to agents with IGLTA membership.

Trafalgar and Flight Centre team up for activation

Last Friday 31 January, the Trafalgar team together with Flight Centre were offering A Taste of Trafalgar at Westfield Parramatta.

On offer, was complimentary gelato, a photo opportunity with a Venetian gondolier and lots of friendly Trafalgar Tribe to share the latest promotions and incredible deals for client’s dream holidays.

Flight Centre’s infamous Captain even stopped by to greet passers-by and get some photos with them.

US capital rolls out new educational videos for travel agent awareness of unique neighbourhoods

Destination DC has launched a new video series for travel agents to further understand and encourage their clients to Discover the Real DC.

The Discover the Real DC campaign, launched last year, encourages travel agents to look beyond the city’s political reputation when packaging up Washington, DC holidays and look into the cities vibrant neighbourhoods for experiences that showcase nature, music, art, theatre, nightlife, culture and cuisine.

The new educational videos come in a 5 part video series taking travel agents on an unexpected journey with local storytellers from all walks of life.

  1. Washington, DC is a River City – Trey Sherard, a biologist and guide with the Anacostia Riverkeeper organisation, takes viewers on the Anacostia River and to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Yards Park.
  2. Washington, DC has Musical Roots – Contemporary hip-hop artist and DC native Christylez Bacon breaks down DC’s music scene and its history and visits Howard Theatre and Eaton Washington DC.
  3. Washington, DC is the City of Trees – For an in-depth look at Rock Creek Park, DDC enlisted Melanie Choukas-Bradley, a naturalist who made her career exploring the urban oasis.
  4. Washington, DC is an International Community – Owner and founder of the ZAAF Collection, Abai Schulze, details DC’s spirited Ethiopian culture and community.
  5. Washington, DC has a Craft Culture – One Eight Distilling’s Alex Laufer and Sandy Wood take you through Ivy City, a walkable Washington, DC neighbourhood filled with distilleries and a community of craft spirit makers.

Win a spot on an LA famil with Los Angeles tourism and United Airlines 

Los Angeles Tourism, together with United Airlines, has announced a sales incentive offering travel agents the chance to win one of ten coveted spots on a famil to Los Angeles this April.

The four-night, five-day famil will take place from 28 April to 2 May 2020. To be in with a chance to attend, agents must sell a ticket with United Airlines from Sydney or Melbourne to Los Angeles Airport (LAX) between 1st to 29th February 2020.

The trip will include return flights on United’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to LAX, the most convenient and popular gateway to North America, and the first port of entry for 43 per cent of Australians heading to the US.

The itinerary will be jam-packed with L.A. activities and attractions each day, spanning the city’s world-class offerings across sports and entertainment, culinary, the outdoors and arts and culture.

Agents need to register here and enter their United Airlines ticket number. Every valid ticket is one entry into the draw and agents can enter as many tickets as they like throughout the incentive period, enhancing their chances of winning.

Australian travellers and travel agents invited to free Arctic expedition information events in three States March 2020

Adventure Canada will hold three, free information sessions in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney next month to showcase the eco company’s 2021 series of Arctic cruises to Australia’s growing legion of adventure-hungry travellers.

Consumers, travel agents – and their clients – are invited to the seminars:

  • Brisbane CBD – 2-4pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2020
  • Melbourne CBD – 2-4pm, Wednesday, March 25, 2020
  • Sydney CBD – 2-4pm, Thursday, March 26, 2020

The events will be hosted by Craig Bowen, managing director, of small-ship specialist, Cruise Traveller, which represents Adventure Canada in Australia, and also Canadian, Martin Aldrich, business development manager and expedition team member for Adventure Canada.
