Russian tourists fined over Thailand beach sex

A pair of Russian tourists were forced to apologise and pay a fine after footage of them having sex on a beach in Thailand was handed over to local police.

Roman Grigorenko, 26, and Daria Vinogradove, 19, were celebrating New Year’s Eve with a few bottles of beer on the beach in Pattaya when they became “overcome with arousal” according to 7 News and began to “romp” on the sand.

Onlookers captured footage of Vinogradove straddling her partner before taking off her shorts and unbuttoning his jeans. Grigorenko is then seen moving on top of here for around 30 seconds before they returned to their hotel room.

The raunchy footage was handed over to police who saw fit to assign the regions top officer and five other policemen to catch the couple.

”Such an act destroys the good image of Pattaya as a tourist resort. Officers were immediately dispatched to the beach to look for clues,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Piyapong Ensarn said at a press conference.

The pair were identified via CCTV footage and were arrested and questioned on suspicion of public indecency.

Police released footage of Grigorenko and Vinogradove apologising for their actions, following local customs by clasping their hands in prayer motion.

The two were also wearing surgical masks to hide their faces.

”I apologise for offending citizens and harming the reputation of the city. We’re sorry,” said Grigorenko.

”Both tourists confessed to be the people in the video clip. Before the incident, both of them travelled to celebrate the New Year. They left a bar on Walking Street then continued to sit on the beach drinking alcohol” said Ensarn.

”They said they felt sexual arousal and because they were intoxicated, lost the awareness of where they were and started to have sex.

”A good citizen saw them and shot a video which he gave to us to follow and make an arrest.”

Ensarn also confirmed the pair have been fined and released.
