Tripfuser celebrates 2,000 travel agents signing on

Tripfuser has revealed it reached a milestone 2,000 agents signing on to the tailor made travel service.

The platform is currently available in more than 55 countries along with 230 highly trusted local suppliers, and supports travel agents to design tailored trips for their clients.

The company is inviting agents to try it for themselves by signing up, with each signature putting those agents in the running for a $5,000 custom trip by the company.

Tour operator Collette recently hosted a series of free events across Australia to showcase its 2020 products for agents. In attendance were representatives from Mobile Travel Agents – MTA, Redcliff Cruise and Travel, Travel Counsellors, Travel Associates, Travel Partners, and Ignite Travel.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn all about Collette’s new tours for next year, receive insightful knowledge to help sell these products more effectively, and engage in a discussion about the latest trending destinations.

Magellan Travel kicks off 11th annual conference at Uluru

More than 200 Magellan Travel members and industry partners have gathered at Uluru this week to attend the company’s 11th annual conference.

On Wednesday afternoon, over 60 delegates embarked on a pre-conference activity with SEIT Tours through Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, where they visited Kata Tjuta (the Olgas).

Sponsored by Club Med, attendees heard from experienced guides about the diverse flora and fauna across the land and discovered the cultural significance of Kata Tjuta being a sacred Aboriginal men’s ceremonial site.

Last night, delegates witnessed a magical welcome to country performance at the start of the welcome event, which was followed by a poolside BBQ sponsored by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

11th annual Magellan Travel Conference [2]

During dinner, members and industry partners were addressed by Magellan Travel’s general manager, Andrew Macfarlane, who welcomed all guests to Uluru and officially opened the 2019 conference.

Macfarlane expressed his gratitude for “the commitment that so many have made to be a part of our conference year after year” and went on to say “this poolside BBQ is a great way to welcome everyone to the most quintessential of Australian destinations.”

Last week to qualify for Sno’n’Ski USA Mega Fam 2020

There is just one week left for agents to qualify for the Sno’n’Ski USA Mega Fam, a winter adventure for 30 top sellers that will travel to Aspen, Snowmass, Steamboat and Park City ski resorts in March 2020.

The qualifying period for the Sno’n’Ski USA Mega Fam spans four months, and any Sno’n’Ski package booked from 1 May to 31 August counts towards an agent’s entries, provided there is at least one booking to a USA Mega Fam destination resort in the mix.

Jayes Travel creates tourism co-working space for consultants and staff

Six months ago, Jayes Travel managing director Michelle Barker was inspired to create a co-working space dedicated to the tourism and travel industry.

Having spent 17 years watching the industry evolve, Barker’s progressive approach to the industry led her to move Jayes Travel to a larger Newcastle CBD premises, opposite the Market Street Lawn, where she has now made her vision a reality.

Barker said the space provides a welcoming team environment for independent consultants to work, meet clients in a secure and professional setting, and accelerate their careers as travel agents, while benefiting from a flexible work setting.

The office features hot desks for consultants, permanent desks for staff provided by Jayes Travel that support consultants, break-out lounges and tables for client meetings, and a receptionist who adds an additional level of service for guests.

TravelManagers’ personal travel managers were recently hosted around the country for a round of fares and ticketing training in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Shepparton. A further Perth session is scheduled for later this year.

The training days are supplemented by fortnightly webinars which are run by the fares and ticketing team, and feature tips and tricks in a brief, easy-to-digest format.
