Gather around your tellies for some quality breakfast TV this week and catch Intrepid Travel’s Japanese tour!

The adventure travel company is touring the land of the rising sun with Channel Seven’s Sunrise program. All week long, Sunrise’s weather will be presented from various locations across Japan, one of Intrepid’s hottest destinations.

The latest from the Australian Bureau of Statistics also found Japan recorded a 17 per cent increase in visitation from Australians in 2017, meaning it’s now our seventeenth most popular international destination.

Here are the four of Intrepid’s most popular trips that viewers will get a taste off this week between 5:30am and 9am on Channel Seven.

Southern Japan Experience

On this 12-day trip, travellers explore south-west of Osaka where they’ll experience the contrast between modern and traditional Japan. They will join locals hiking trails to hidden temples, be awed by some of the country’s most impressive castles and soak in Dogo Onsen – one of Japan’s oldest hot spring baths.

Cycle Japan

For the active traveller, cycling Japan is a popular way to experience Japan’s history and culture from temples, shrines to the buzz of Tokyo. This 11-day trip includes a mix of bikes and Japan’s famous high-speed trains. Travellers will work up an appetite for feasts of sushi, unagi, tempura, traditional sake and Sapporo beer.

Japan Family Holiday

Families who want a Japanese adventure with the comfort of a local tour leader and the company of other families will love this 12-day holiday. Japan: Hike, Bike and Kayak

A true outdoor adventure in Japan, this trip includes walking through ancient post towns along the famous Nakasendo trail, cycling alongside the Kamo River in Kyoto and kayaking the bays of Ise Shima. Travellers will take in the Kumano Kodo, one of only two UNESCO listed pilgrimage trails in the world. In Kyoto, the group will experience a Buddhist vegetarian lunch inside the Daitokuji Temple.
