Trafalgar reveals the present everyone wants for Christmas

Planning to do all your last minute Christmas shopping tonight? We may have the perfect excuse not to brave the crowds this year.

New research from Trafalgar shows that consumer goods are losing their shine when it comes to gift giving, with 74 per cent preferring to have experiences over having “things.”

With a big shift in focus for consumers to buy experiences this Christmas, Trafalgar is making it easy for agents to capitalise on this trend with its array of immersive, rich and experiential travel experiences for clients across all seven continents.

As well as a new Family Experiences program that offers a seamless family holiday option for clients, as well as creating the opportunity for agents to sell more trip pax to families of three, four, six or more.

Aussies will each spend an average of $1,325 over Christmas this year, with two-thirds of people regretting the amount of money they forked out, according to Trafalgar.

There’s no need to convince agents that the gift of travel is priceless and the memories of a holiday with loved ones will far surpass the credit card debts that will be accumulated buying gifts for the whole family.

So it’s time for travel to take its lion’s share of the Christmas bounty!

Why not take advantage of Trafalgar’s multigenerational travel offering with the launch of its 2019 Family Experiences program which is perfect for clients wanting to spend time with their children and grandparents.

In line with customer and trade demand, Trafalgar has expanded its family specific itineraries launching a new family experience in Ireland in 2019.

10-day Shamrocks and Leprechauns itinerary features four cities, a Game of Thrones film set, a Leprechaun Whisperer and medieval archery as well as one of Trafalgar’s famous Be My Guest experiences at a sheep farm on the Wild Atlantic Way, to name just a few of the family-oriented activities in store.

They could find themselves enjoying lunch with three generations of an Amish family who treat guests to homemade Pennsylvania Dutch cooking at an exclusive Be My Guest dining experience on Pilgrims and Patriots.

The whole family will love battling it out together at Gladiator School in Rome or ziplining through Costa Rica’s dense forest.

So ditch the ques next year give the gift everyone REALLY wants.
