Quality Service Awards name Flight Centre as best agency

The Readers Digest Australian Quality Service Awards 2019 have named Flight Centre as Australia’s most loved travel agency.

That’s right, folks, the results are in and Aussie consumers have voted for their most trusted companies.

The survey commissioned by Reader’s Digest involved 1,500 Australians of a weighted demographic, who were asked to rate their opinions of a range of organisations and businesses in the retail and services sectors.

The survey, carried out by Catalyst Market Research, involved 40 categories as varied as car rentals, cruise companies, supermarkets, optometrists, liquor outlets, retirement villages and pizza franchises.

Those surveyed were asked to rate service providers based on whether an individual customer experience was provided; were expectations met or even exceeded; was dealing with the company quick and easy; was a high-quality service consistently provided; and whether a genuine insight into the customer’s needs was demonstrated.

Flight Centre was awarded the Gold Quality Service Award, and Expedia took home the Silver, with Qantas scoring Gold in the airline category and Singapore Airlines Silver.

In terms of cruise operators, the top honour was given to P&O Cruises, with Princess awarded Silver.

Hilton won Gold for hotels, followed closely by Novotel and Budget and Thrify respectively took home Gold and Silver awards for car rentals.

Even travel insurance got a shout out with Cover-More and 1Cover coming in first and second.
