Hawaiian Airlines appoints Andrew Stanbury as regional director – Australia/New Zealand
Hawaiian Airlines has announced the appointment of Andrew Stanbury to the role of regional director for Australia and New Zealand, effective Jan. 2. Stanbury will be responsible for leading Hawaiian’s growing commercial activities in both countries.
“I am delighted to be joining Hawaiian Airlines at such an exciting point in the airline’s development and thrilled to be joining the teams in Australia and New Zealand,” Stanbury said.
“I look forward to adding my experience to theirs and to helping further Hawaiian Airlines’ achievements in the region.”
Stanbury brings to Hawaiian diverse international knowledge and experience. As executive general manager for global sales at Fiji Airways for the past three years, he has been responsible for all passenger revenue-related functions, including distribution, channel management and alliance sales.
COMO Hotels and Resorts welcomes Tapa Tibble as managing director of the Americas
Singapore-based lifestyle collection the COMO Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Tapa Tibble as managing director of the Americas.
In this role, Tibble will be based in the Turks and Caicos, overseeing the Northern Caribbean’s pre-eminent private island resort COMO Parrot Cay, as well as sister property COMO Metropolitan Miami Beach in Florida — two award-winning destinations owned and managed by COMO Hotels and Resorts and the upcoming projects that are in the pipeline in the region.
Tibble is joining the COMO Group from his role as regional director of Europe for Aman Resorts, where he was responsible for the operation of its European portfolio. Last year, he was nominated by industry leaders as ‘Hotelier of the Year’ in the Best of the Best Awards at Virtuoso Travel Week.
Tibble, a Canadian-born New Zealander of Maori heritage, has a somewhat unusual education for a luxury hotelier. His studies include, among other things, a bachelor’s degree in Social Science with majors in Law and International Relations, as well as post-graduate qualifications in Strategic Studies. After finishing studying, he shifted his focus to hospitality, completing the General Manager’s Programme at Cornell University.
TMS Talent welcomes Jasmine Pickering
More growth for TMS Talent, welcoming Jasmine Pickering to their marketing team as group marketing manager. Pickering has held global and local marketing roles across a diverse range of sectors including recruitment, accounting and engineering sectors. Most recently as marketing manager for global technology recruitment leader Talent International.
Working alongside both small and large teams, Pickering has delivered innovative cross-channel marketing initiatives that have contributed to driving business growth and building a strong brand presence.

The Lux Collective: Karen Lai Yong appointed senior vice-president of Global Business Development
Following the recent announcement of the unbundling of its operations into two distinct entities, namely The Lux Collective, the management company and owner of the various brands and LUX* Island Resorts, the asset management company, LUX* group has gone one step further. It announced a new key recruitment to reinforce its team in view of the brands global expansion.
The group has appointed Karen Lai Young as senior vice-president – Global Business Development. She will be based in Singapore at the head office of The Lux Collective housed in Suntec Building 2. She is responsible for the implementation of the group’s strategic plan across the world.
On her recent appointment, Karen Lai Yong said “I am delighted to be part of The Lux Collective, a hospitality group with great ambitions which are in line with my personal objectives. With Paul and his team as support, I am confident that we will be able to establish a strong global expansion. By working together, we will succeed in obtaining new management contracts, in Asia Pacific as well as other parts of the world.”
Leading customer experience technology company hires hospitality professional
Local Measure, the leading customer experience platform for the hospitality industry has hired Hannah Milborrow as their new vice president of product. The timing of Milborrow’s new appointment is significant as Local Measure’s product continues to evolve this year into a comprehensive real-time customer intelligence suite.
Local Measure’s technology partners include Cisco, IBM, Salesforce, Facebook, Instagram, and Sina Weibo. As the company plans to make deeper inroads with its channel partners, Milborrow will be tasked with driving product development to add value to these partnerships, research and positioning, strategy and product advocacy.
Milborrow brings over 10 years of experience holding senior product leadership positions. She held the position of vice president of product at SiteMinder, a guest acquisition platform for hotels. During her three-year tenure at SiteMinder, Milborrow was responsible for the product strategy for SiteMinder’s complete portfolio of products with over 350 integrations and partners.
Milborrow said, “The opportunity to work with such a great team in an industry which is a collision of technology and customers presents an exciting future. Local Measure already has great products which help to empower customers by bringing guest experiences to the forefront. I’m looking forward to working with the team to strengthen the customer experience by bringing a seamlessly integrated experience into our ecosystem to continue to drive guest loyalty and advocacy.”
AVPartners promotes Mark Gurd to partner at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort
Leading audiovisual company AVPartners has appointed Mark Gurd as partner at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort. Gurd previously served as a sales associate for AVPartners Novotel Twin Waters Resort. He now brings with him 10 years experience as an audio technician with commercial radio and live events.
The role will involve Gurd leading the AVPartners team at Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort to deliver world-class audiovisual services, working with both clients and the venue to communicate big ideas and create memorable event experiences.
Mark’s passion for the audiovisual industry started at a young age. His Year Seven Yearbook even states ‘Future Occupation: Sound Technician’. He excels in creating solutions and genuinely connecting with clients, while guiding them through the technical jargon to help them feel comfortable.
Regarding his new appointment, Gurd said, “The Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort is a wonderful venue, in an amazing location. The sky is the limit on what we can achieve, and I can’t wait to deliver some truly impressive events. To now be welcomed as partner at the venue is a very proud moment in my career.”
