Why being a mobile travel advisor doesn’t mean you’re alone

Why being a mobile travel advisor doesn’t mean you’re alone

We get it – going mobile can be scary, especially if you’ve only ever worked for big corporations.

But not with MTA Travel!

Being an MTA – Mobile Travel Advisor means that even though you’re running your own business, you still have a massive support team behind you, allowing you to spend more quality time designing bespoke travel arrangements for your clients.

And if you think you’ll miss working with other people? Don’t worry – you may be working independently and mobile or from home, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be alone. With MTA, you’ll always feel like part of a team.

MTA has Australia’s leading team of mobile travel advisors who are only too willing to share experiences and advice as there is never competition between them. Oh, and since you’re working independently, there’s no office politics to deal with either.

But again, that doesn’t mean you’re alone. MTA has a closed Facebook group which their members are a part of – where you can interact similarly to how you would in an office, except you’ll be able to do it when and where you choose – whether that be from your home, local cafe, or perhaps even from the beach. MTA travel advisors are regularly chatting and comparing tips and tricks– and there are nearly 400 experts with their years of industry knowledge to bounce ideas off. Try to find that in a traditional travel agency.

And MTA advisors also attend regular local coffee clusters and product updates – which gives them the chance to catch up in real life as well as online.

Plus, the annual MTA Conference is basically a massive family reunion. Think learning and networking over two fabulous days, in a fabulous location. This year, it was held at the Gold Coast in March. Talk about working in style!

MTA’s experienced BDMs are always there for the advisors, to give feedback, help with their business plans and to support them to ensure they meet their individual goals. Which, BTW, are just that: individual. At MTA there are no sales targets or KPIs that must be reached – they let their members set their own personal goals and targets.

You also get to choose your own GDS and know that MTA has developed its own in-house mid and back office system which is purpose-built and simple to use. Plus, technology that focuses on increasing productivity is a high priority for MTA, so that more time can be spent with clients. And more time with clients equals more dollars, right?

MTA continues to develop and bring in new technology to assist their travel advisors to be more productive. As well as their very own system, MTA also has Global Fares, which provides all available fares globally in a single search, resulting in the most suitable fare at the best rate for clients. They also have their very own app – MTA Companion – the market leading itinerary builder and client communication tool.

We haven’t even mentioned the Assistance Team who can do your bookings for you while you are away on a famil or leave, the 7/24 IT support and the after-hours emergency ticketing team. All this amazing support is all included as part of the MTA offering. So, it’s clear to see you are never alone when you are an MTA travel advisor.

All of this creates a culture of trust – and the MTA travel advisors agree.
