WATCH: Shocking video shows how your luggage is REALLY handled

A video of luggage handlers carelessly throwing around checked bags at an airport in Hong Kong has gone viral and is sparking fear in the hearts of travellers everywhere.

From now on, we’re wrapping all our valuables in bubble wrap before putting it in our checked luggage.

The short video clip, which was posted on Facebook, shows two luggage handlers tossing checked items, including suitcases and parcels, from a conveyor belt onto a cart.

The woman who uploaded the video, Marcela Fernanda Solis Walker, recorded the clip just after she got off her flight from Xiamen to Hong Kong, according to Fox News.

The video has since racked up almost seven million views.

Walker told South China Morning Post she had no intention to make trouble for the workers.

“I only wanted other people to be aware of the situation,” she said.

She said she wrote to Hong Kong Airport Services (HAS) but has not yet received a reply.

A HAS spokesperson told South China Morning Post that they were aware of the video and had taken it up with the outsourced supplier involved.

“We sincerely apologise to the passengers of our customer airlines in this particular incident,” the spokesperson said.
