Cartoon Network theme park to open in Bali

We apologise to all our co-workers who had to deal with our screams of excitement this morning but this is big news, folks.

Bali is getting a Cartoon Network themed amusement park, people! And yes, it’s totally normal for a fully grown adult to almost pass out from excitement over a cartoon channel.

Cartoon Network Bali

Slated to be fully operational in 2020, the 4.3-hectare entertainment park will be Indonesia’s first internationally-branded theme park.

And oh-my-god it’s going to feature the island’s largest waterpark, with water rides, surf and wave pools, and an indoor entertainment centre, all splashed with Cartoon Network theming.

Live entertainment and performances featuring characters from shows such as Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time will also add to the attractions.

Meanwhile, we’re being hit by so many waves of nostalgia writing this that we might just have to take the rest of the day off to recover. And binge-watch the Powerpuff Girls.

The integrated project will be a key part of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex, a premier tourist destination in southern Bali featuring world-class hotels and an award-winning golf course.

“The new park will enhance the development of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex which will offer a full-suite of leading hospitality and entertainment choices for the whole family,” Gita Wirjawan, chairman of The MAJ Group said.

“Furthermore, it will cement Bali as the premier family destination in Asia and one of the world’s top tourist locations.”

As we all know, Bali has been a hot-spot for Aussie travellers for a while now, and this attraction plans to foster the island’s image as a family-friendly holiday destination.

“Turner and The MAJ Group share the same vision of creating the ultimate family destination in Indonesia, and the entertainment park will combine world-class design with unparalleled Balinese hospitality,” Ricky Ow, President of Turner Asia Pacific said.

“Above all, it will offer guests genuine fun powered by Cartoon Network, Asia’s leading kid’s entertainment brand.”

The announcement was made this week at IAAPA’s Asian Attractions Expo in Hong Kong, and joins other Cartoon Network branded projects in Thailand, Dubai and India.
