Monkey on the loose in airport finally captured

The only thing we love more than airport stories is stories that involve animals and guess what? This baby has both.

A monkey has caused quite a commotion after escaping its cage and running loose in San Antonio Airport.

According to CNN, the monkey in question has been identified as a rhesus macaque who had just arrived on an American Airlines flight from Brown University in Rhode Island where it had been retired from research protocols.

A spokesman for the airport said the little cutie was captured in the baggage handling area of Terminal B.

According to a statement from American Airlines, the animal was taken to an animal sanctuary.

“American Airlines, the San Antonio Aviation Department and officials from the San Antonio Zoo all worked in conjunction to ensure his safety and wellbeing as he continues his journey to his new home,” the statement said, according to CNN.

    1. Poor little fella. Research protocols? What sort of trauma has this poor little mite undergone, then to be shipped in a crate in a dark, noisy and frightening cargo hold in an aircraft, to be pursued and captured in an airport. I guess all for some brainless people to look “pretty” after his “research protocols” a.k.a. torture (probably) have concluded. Shame. Shame. Shame
