The Points Guy ranks the best US airlines
Choosing an airline can be tricky at the best of times, do you go for best price, most comfortable, friendliest staff or highest value frequent flyer program?
Well, if you’re planning on flying with a US airline, the decision just got easier.
Specialist air travel website, The Points Guy, has analysed objective data to determine the top ten US airlines, not including public image, fortunately for one particular airline.
The numbers airlines were tested based on a number of factors, each with different levels of consideration, including airfare (25 per cent), bag and change fees (10 per cent), route network (15 per cent), on-time arrivals (10 per cent), cabin comfort (10 per cent), customer satisfaction (10 per cent), lost baggage (five per cent), frequent flyers program (10 per cent), involuntary bumps (two per cent) and lounges (three per cent).

5. Frontier
The carrier made huge improvements, going from last in the 2017 ranking, to fifth. The TPG rules it up to an improvement in mishandled baggage and route network expansions.
4. United
After a rocky 2017 in the public eye, the airline only dropped two spots, which is pretty good if you ask us.
3. Delta
Delta made improvements across the board, ranking higher on airfares and bumps, and maintaining great scored in on-time arrivals and lost baggage.
2. Southwest
The carrier saw a huge improvement in airfares and route network while absolutely blitzing customer satisfaction and baggage fees.
1. Alaska Airlines
Alaska maintained its position as the top-rated airline, absolutely killing it in the airfare, on-time arrivals, baggage handling, customer satisfaction and its best-in-the-industry frequent flyer program.
