Watch: Flight attendant rocks child to sleep

News flash: no one likes a crying baby on a flight.

And if you’re the parent of said crying baby, the flight can get a whole lot worse if you have other passengers stare daggers at you whilst you frantically try and get your baby to stop.

But if you were on this Hawaiian Airlines flight, you’d have nothing to worry about.

According to KHON2, a mum was travelling with her three small children on a flight to Los Angeles when one of her toddlers started crying.

And on a long haul flight, can you really blame them?

But after half an hour of mum trying to calm them, the toddler was still crying and agitated. Until a flight attendant (read: angel) stepped in.

Gina Reyes, known to many of her friends as “mama Gina” seemed to have a a magic touch, rocking and singing to the toddler whilst mum finally got to relax.

Reyes has four kids of her own and has also been a surrogate mother – so it’s safe to say she knows what she’s doing when it comes to crying babies.

“I saw a place where I could help,” she told KHON2. “I was rocking and singing to him. I was singing lullabies to him.”

Rachel Yuen Nih, a fellow passenger on the Hawaiian Airlines flight, was so touched by Reyes’ willingness to help she filmed a clip on her phone.

“It’s just that human kindness, you know?” she said.

“Someone going beyond just a job description. It was a privilege for me to witness that and I took out my phone and decided I’m just going to get a snippet of it.”
