On The Go Tours kicking off 2019 with new Russia tour

In time for ‘FIFA World Cup fever’, On The Go Tours have announced a new 10-day Russia tour for 2018 taking in the top sights of St Petersburg, Moscow and the remote beauty of the Solovetsky Islands.

Kicking off 9 June, the tour dives deep into Russia’s rich history and visits its thriving cities and provinces that make up this truly fascinating country.

Only accessible by boat during the summer months, the Solovetsky Islands (also known as Solovki) are located in the Onega Bay of the White Sea. Travellers will be guided through one of Russia’s most famous Monasteries, Solovki Monastery, dating back to the 16th century. The remote location was used to house one of the Soviet Union’s most infamous Gulags during Stalin’s reign in the 1920’s.

Trek Larapinta for The Katrina Dawson Foundation

The Katrina Dawson Foundation & Huma Charity Challenge have launched a guided walk along the Larapinta Trail in Central Australia to raise awareness of and funds for the foundation established in honour of the late Katrina Dawson.

The Katrina Dawson Foundation was established in December 2014 by Katrina’s family and former Governor General of Australia, The Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD, CVO, to honour Katrina’s memory, after she was tragically taken from her family, friends and the community in the Lindt Cafe Siege.

“The Katrina Dawson Foundation Challenge, Larapinta with Edwina Parsons” will take place from 8-12 May 2018.
