Meet the Women in Travel: CLIA’s Vera Pajovic

To celebrate the illustrious Women in TravelTravel Weekly will sit down with 20 women of the Australian travel industry, to hear their stories of success, setbacks and female empowerment.

This time we talk to CLIA Australasia Marketing Manager Vera Pajovic.

Sustainable tourism is close to my heart

I worked with the local tourism boards and communities in Papua New Guinea while working as the account marketing manager for PNG Tourism.

Being able to showcase amazing products that allowed local communities to earn an income and improve their daily lives was rewarding both professionally and personally.

Flexibility is the way forward

It’s challenging trying to balance a successful career with motherhood.

More employers should adopt fl exible approaches for women and men with families and allow job sharing.

We need inclusiveness, as this results in happier employees and, ultimately, satisfi ed employers.

Balance is key to gender equality

Workplaces need balanced leadership teams; they are stronger at problem solving.

Improving female representation starts from the top, so more women should be hired in executive roles for their skills and abilities.

This will send a positive message to the younger female generation.

Travel Weekly is proud to present the Women in Travel Awards held on 27 November at Doltone House Darling Island.
